KEN HOFFMAN Staff - Houston ChronicleHere's what is at stake, according to Channel 11 general manager Peter Diaz:
"People who watch morning news generally watch more regularly and more frequently. So morning news viewers are highly sought after," Diaz said.
Approximately half a million people are watching television between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. in Houston. More than 400,000 of them are tuned into news.
Mornings are a great way to start a TV station's day.
"We think Deborah Duncan means a great deal to our newscast. She is incredibly personable and has great recognition in the market. Johnathan Walton is a colorful adventurer who showcases the lighter side of Houston," Diaz said.
